			THE greater Tartary is one of the vastest Regions of the whole Earth. It hath to the West the States of Muscovy, the Ocean to the North, to the East the Streights of Anian, or Jesso, according to some Maps, and to the South Persia, India, and China. Several Princes have Dominions in that great space of Land, and among others the Prince of Niuche on the East-side, who Invaded and Conquered China: But the most considerable of all is the Great Cham. One of his chief Provinces in Cathay, which some take for China, and its City of Cambalu for that of Pequin, so uncertain Men are in the knowledge of those distant Countries.
