Gilan, Gelae, Gilania, a Province of Persia, upon the South side of the Caspian Sea, which from it is often called the Sea of Gilan. The chief City of this Province is Gilan, and stands upon the River Abisirni, twenty five German Miles from the Caspian Sea: in Long. 90. 13. and Lat. 40. //Paris Meridian was used in the book
