1638. Some yeares travels into divers parts of Asia and Afrique by Thomas Herbert.

Next night we got to Barfrush de, a great Towne; well peopled, inriched with silk-wormes, wood, and excellent water; and therefore they may the better forbeare wine; for the law here forbids the use of it, under a grievous penalty. This place is from Chacoporo 12 miles, many of the men here delight in Archery, and have long beene famous'd in that manly exercise.
