Corea, a Peninsula of the Kingdom of China, East of the Provinces of Xantung and Leaotung, and joined Northwards by the Kingdom of Niuche in Tartary. It is of a very fruitful Soil for Corn and Rice. There are Mines of Gold and Silver discovered amongst the Mountains of it, and Pearl upon the Coasts. The Inhabitants use the like Customs and Religion with the Chinese. The Chinese call it Chaosien, the Japaneze Corea. And it stands divided into eight Provinces.
