Susa, a City of Persia, formerly the Capital of Susiana now Cusistan, watered by the River Eulaeus or Choaspes, built by Tithonus Father of Memnon, and the ordinary Residence of the Kings of Persia during the Winter and Spring. This City was Taken by Alexander the Great, who there married Statira. At present this City is ruined; so that according to some, the Place where it formerly stood is unknown, though some Authors tell us it is still standing, and that its modern Name is Souster.
